Bacon Fest Cocktail Competition: Participating restaurants and bars (to be announced) will serve bacon-inspired cocktails all week.
A secret judge will be visiting to determine the best.

Third Annual Bacon Fest Sacramento Chefs Competition: Tickets go on sale Monday, December 30, at noon for this don't-miss celebration! SOLD OUT!

Competing chefs this year include: Patrick Mulvaney (Mulvaney's B&L), Rachel Kelley (Revolution Wines), Adam Pechal (Restaurant Thir13en), Billy Zoellin (Bacon & Butter), Michael Tuohy (Block), Brian Mizner (Hook & Ladder), Travis Surmi (Grange), Ian McBride (Lucca), Jaaymes Luu (Fat Face), Scott Ostrander (Esquire Grill), Matt Brown (Golden Bear), and Robb Vedditti (Pangaea). Prizes include expensive knives, cheap trophies--and 365 days of braggin rights.

Judges this year: chef Michael Thiemann (Mother, Empress Tavern), chef Brad Cecchi (Urban Farmer in Cleveland, formerly of Grange), chef John Gurnee (LB Steak in Menlo Park), Chris Macias (food writer, Sacramento Bee), Becky Grunewald (food editor, Edible Sacramento), and Charlie Thieriot of Rancho Llano Seco.

Each guest receives: samples of all the chefs Bacon Fest competition small bites, a plethora of Bacon Fest buffet eats by Patrick Mulvaney, two free drinks, and one vote to decide the audience award. DJ Shaun Slaughter with the tunes.
